Thanks for the hint.

I've tested qt-faststart, and indeed there is some improvement. As far
as I have tested, the iPad did not freeze or hang anymore.

Hoever, there are ugly artefacts on iPad (while the same file looks
pretty good on a linux machine or a Western Digital WD TV Live
streamer). I guess this is still software decoding without enough
computation power.
