[x264-devel] Is it possible to get pictures from video using x264

Hi. This is  my first mail here, may be my question will stuped). x264 creates video from pictures with command like that "x264 --fps 25 -o vid.mkv 'pic_%%04d.jpg' ", but it can't do the reverse process. When I type something like "x264 --fps 25 -o 'pic_%%04d.jpg' vid.mkv", program creates one output file with name "pic_%04d.jpg".  Is it really to get pictures from video using x264 or this function is not supported by x264?
