Well,  you're checkouting  0.5.0 version,  which is  quite old  now, ans
doesn't have support  for v4l. To checkout the current  cvs, just remove
the "-r v0_5_0" argument

Well, both solution  are working. Don't know if any  of them give better
result than the other. However, VLC and VLS have qui major diferences in
terms of  structure... Let's  say VLC is  easier to  setup (theorically)
and  perhaps  more  tunable,  while  VLS  is  lighter  and  give  better
administration possibilities. (well, not  sure that everybody will agree
with my analysis ;-)
