I've shut down anything that looks like a firewall. An checked /etc/services.
Port 1234 is open as far as I can tell.

I tried to install the client on the server from source, but it seg faults.
Instead I setup a file channel on the server. Is it correct that the mpg
should get streamed to the file? When I start vls, the file size is static
and only a fraction of the total mpg file size. (I'm now using a different
mpg - one that does not result in the timer discontinuity being adjusted.)

Any more ideas?

cheers
