If you want to stream unencrypted satellite or digital terrestial TV
channels, the VideoLAN Server can do that very well, and your set top
box should accept it. It only requires standard DVB cards which cost
less than 150 euros each !

The problem is that we don't support the streaming of encrypted
channels... if you want to do it, you will have to decode and re-encode
the stream.

There's no such functions in the VideoLAN software, but you can always
find a solution for that... it depends on how you want to stream the
channels (unicast / multicast) and how you do the sessions
announcements.

For unencrypted satellite or terrestial TV channels, it's :
Satellite dish or TV antenna -> PCI DVB card -> LAN -> STB -> TV
There's no need to decode end re-encode !
