Don't know as I've never used virtualdub.

VLC has been modified a few days ago to also be able to stream DivX1/2/3, 
wmv1/2 and h/i263 videos, so you should be able to stream your file with 
the next version of vlc. However these formats not being true mpeg4, the 
stream we produce won't be playable on anything else than VLC.
