Hello,

I've had the same kind of problem than you. Here the way I've solved it,
hope it's going to help.

First, ar far as I know, VLS is incompatible with libdvb-0.4.x at
this time (you were right about it). I used linuxtv-1.0.0-pre1 ans
libdvb-0.2.2 to have the whole thing work. My equipment is a dish with 2
universal heads, pointing on ASTRA and Hotbird

I didn't manage to have satscan work with libdvb-0.2.2 neither. However,
it worked fine with libdvb-0.4.1. So, I created one with libdvb-0.4.1
and then made (very dirty syntax inside ;-) :

cat .dvbrc | sed s/PNAME\ \".*\"\ SATID/SATID/ | sed s/VPID.*// | sed s/APID.*// | sed s/PCRPID.*// | sed s/TSID.....// > .dvbrc_new

This made a .dvbrc compatible with libdvb-0.2.2.

This command worked with a .dvbrc for Hotbird. Perhaps you'll have to
adapt it a little bit for other satellites. What you've got to do is
delete the TSID entry in every TRANSPONDER section, and only keep ID,
NAME, SATID, TPID, SID and TYPE in every CHANNEL section
