[streaming] Streaming avi, divx or mpg4

First of all thanks all for help I've received from this mailing list.
Today I have some questions about streaming.

I've installed vlc 0.6.0 and I want to use it to stream avi divx or mp4 
video formats. The question is:

1) How can I stream videos in these formats ? if the anwer is yes, what 
do I have to configure or install to my vlc can stream videon in these 
formats?

I've tested vlc 0.6.0 to stream videos using as input an acquisition 
card. I've read videolan howto doc to know how to stream from 
acquisition card. But I'd like to know where can I look for more 
information about it.
