Yes it can be used. Some users have reported it to work on a Zaurus, but
I'd like to have more feedback on it.
Could you try this ipkg for Zaurus? It lacks a user interface, but can
be controlled from the commandline.

Also install
http://www.videolan.org/pub/vlc/ipkg-feed/armv4l/v0.5.3/libffmpeg_0.4.6_20030304_arm.ipk
it is needed by the zaurus-* packages.

Well it already works ;-) Now we have to make it only better in support
