I may be wrong, but it looks like a audio output or soundcard issue to
me... Do you have the same kind of issues when trying to open a video
file or a mp3, for instance ? Does it change anything to force the
samplerate to 48000 on the server (:samplerate=48000) in the "v4l:" part
of the command line), or on the client (change the samplerate of the
audio output in the audio preferences of vlc...)
