Sorry for the VERY late reply...
I've also noticed this on my computer.
Does anyone know why?
I've seen this on all versions + snapshots since 0.6.1 or 0.6.2, and I am
updating my system once every 2 weeks or so...

Subject: [streaming] eMule
Hello there,
first of all I wanna thank you for your great prog and of course for keeping
it for free.
I using VLC to preview unfinished video downloads in eMule (guess you know
it, if not: www.emule-project.net). Sometimes it happens theat VLC slows
down my whole system dramatically, running progresses nearly stopping. The
only way to bypass a reboot is to kill VLC's task with the Taskmanager which
needs up to 2 minutes to appear. After this eMule lost every single
connection and some running progresses are killed.
It seems like that this happens when VLC reaches a part of the unfinished
video file which is not complete yet.
Is there anyway to prevent this? Please answer me, yours...
- Caleb
P.S. Sorry for my bad english ;-)
