[streaming] streaming DVD streaming

Hi,

Is it required to convert DVD files into MPEG format
for VLS server? or does it convert automatically? or does it
provide a converter? I would like to VOD streaming for DVDs
and also on client side.. is it required to have only VLC? or does VLS
work with real video or windows player
