where are you pinging the group from - that doesnt really prove much. All it proves is clients are listening on that group , unless you can ping it from opposite ends it doesnt prove traffic is being routed.

My Connection is like that

Vlc streamer --- router1 --- router 2 --- router 3 --- router 4 -
switch -client pc1, client pc2, client pc3

--- i ping the multicast address with ttl =12 and i get a reply from these
clients
