Thanks! the solution is sometimes very close:
Mandrake 10.1 provides only vlc-0.8.0-0.test2.2mdk.i586.rpm,
but now Mandrake 10.2 is the current release, and that provides
vlc-0.8.1-8mdk including the ts mux plugin and it works!
