[streaming] --sout-transcode-sfilter transform

Hi,
I'm trying to stream a video to a Zaurus (which has a [strange] 480x640 
display, and therefore needs 90° rotation).
The Zaurus is too slow to do the transformation client-side, so I thought I'd 
use "--sout-transcode-sfilter transform --transform-type 90" -- which does 
nothing.

Is the transform filter client-only? If so, what's the best place to look at 
for fixing it, and if no, what am I doing wrong?
