[streaming] a small doubt about the subtitles

Hello People from Videolan and thank you for providing
us with a good software like this.
I have a small problem, I do not find the solution. I
would like to play avi or divx movies , and til here
is ok, but as soon as i want to play the .srt
susbtitles they never appear in the menu to be played,
can you please tell which is the way to play
subtitles, or if the .srt file doesn't work, which one
could I use.
