Hello
Last year i was using nsvtools/shoutcast to feed a vp3/mp3 video/audio
live stream to several vlc clients
I opted for this solution as my servers (X11-less) are running FreeBSD,
and shoutcast was the easiest streaming server to get working.
I remade a few tests this afternoon, and found out that the image played
by vlc was distorted whith huge square pixels (mostly greenish ones);
the playback is fine using winamp -sigh- and mplayer.
I thought this could be an issue with directx filters, but after
reinstalling them, it seems the problem isn't solved.
Last year, (exact same period, but haven't kept any vlc binary from that
time), vlc could play nsv streams perfectly.
The nsvtools haven't been updated in ages, so i'm -almost- confident
they are not the issue
I'm not excluding my setup as possible source of the problem, but i was
just wondering if anyone had noticed such weird playback issues using
nsv (vp3/mp3) or any other codecs and vlc player, and mostly if
something had to be tweaked is vlc's options in order to fix the issue..
Ps: i'm still looking forward to get vlc running X11-less on FreeBSD
(6), which hopefully will solve all my troubles.
Best regards to everyone.
Rudolph.
