Hi,

I am trying to stream playlist (m3u) as VOD, but vlc segfaults when I try to
set it up:

1) Start vlc in daemon mode
vlc --ttl 12 -vvv --color -I telnet --telnet-password videolan --rtsp-host
0.0.0.0:5554

2) Attempt to set up streaming (file a.m3u exists in vlc's current
directory)
telnet 0 4212
Trying 0.0.0.0...
Connected to 0.
Escape character is '^]'.
Password:
Welcome, Master
> new Test vod enabled
> setup Test input a.m3u
Connection closed by foreign host.

3) Here is the output of the vlc started in step 1:
...
[00000309] [Media: Test] playlist demuxer debug: found valid M3U playlist
file
[00000309] [Media: Test] main demuxer debug: using demux2 module "playlist"
[00000295] [Media: Test] main input debug: looking for a subtitle file in
/var/tmp/VOD/
[00000295] [Media: Test] main input debug: starting in async mode
[00000295] [Media: Test] main input debug: `a.m3u' successfully opened
[00000281] playlist playlist debug: unable to find item in playlist
[00000281] playlist playlist debug: not starting playlist playback
Segmentation fault

The files a.m3u references exists as well. I have tried both relative and
absolute paths in m3u file, to no avail.

The same configuration for an standalone mp3 file works properly.

What is the problem with above scenario?

Is there other way I can stream a playlist with metadata for each song?
