Version 0.1.99f of the VideoLAN Client (vlc) is out, at last. We
apologize for last week's connectivity problems for the web site and the
mailing-list, but for some curious reasons someone thought our computers
could run without power.

   New in 0.1.99f :

  * removed bloat from the MMX YUV plugin
  * vlc.init becomes ~/.vlcrc
  * removed float operations in the video decoder, and all emms asm
   functions
  * borrowed linuxvideo's MMX motion compensation
  * fixed an undefined symbol in the MMX YUV plugin

  * plugin autodetection now works, so you can choose the gnome output
by launching `vlc --vout gnome', or directly run `gvlc'. The vlc will
always try to launch the most suitable plugin. The YUV functions are
plugins as well, so if you have problems with the MMX ones, you can
disable them with `vlc --yuv nommx'.

  * packages are back ! you can download an RPM, an SRPM, an i386 .deb,
   depending on your distribution.

You can download the new version via HTTP or FTP :

      ftp://ftp.videolan.org/pub/videolan/0.1.99e/

For the VideoLAN team,
bozo.
