VLC does _not_ work with multicast

On Linux, I _have_ compiled in support for multicast. As my next message
(...even more info) explains, I can receive the multicast stream perfectally
with a handful lines of C code. The Windoze machine has been tested with
0.4.1 and 0.4.2 with no effect
