problem when using vlc to play ts file!

Does this happen as soon as vlc is launched, or only when you try to
play the ts file ?
Can you display the log window without any problem (View --> Messages) ?
Are there red messages in it ?

As a temporary workaround, you can get the gtk interface
(http://www.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/0.4.0/win32/vlc-0.4.0-win32-gt
k-plugin.zip) and set it as default in the preferences.
