 It's the first option, and I have about zero knowledge of liba52.

 I'm not (at least not yet ;) but I saw the downmix equations. My
intentions are not to modify these.

 But for the case of liba52, do you think it is possible to integrate
this in some way in the lib ? Or would it cost us a downmix in vlc
instead of liba52 ?
