[ANN] VideoLAN Client 0.4.0

    The VideoLAN team is very excited to deliver version 0.4.0 of VLC, 
the VideoLAN Client. This release features major advances, and 
includes :

  * MPEG-4/DivX/OpenDivX support via the ffmpeg and mad libraries ;
  * Fixes for most known crash and freeze causes ;
  * .mp3 files support ;
  * A usable Mac OS X interface (no need for command-line any more) ;
  * IPv6 and HTTP support for Win32 systems ;
  * VCD support under FreeBSD ;
  * Internationalized interface [wanted! we need more translators].

    You can download VLC 0.4.0 via HTTP or FTP :

    Tarballs are available, as well as x86 Debian, RPM, Windows and BeOS
packages, and a MacOS X package. Binary builds for architectures and
distributions not yet available are welcome and can be uploaded to our
incoming directory:
