Greetings,

I have been getting lots of people that I know to switch over to the
vlc media player over the past few weeks. The only problem is that I'm
tired of telling them all of the commands to install it. Therefor, I
have made a perl script which should make it simple for anyone to
install vlc.

The only requirements of the script are, of course, perl and
Digest::MD5. It has been tested and works flawlessly on RedHat 9
(Default and fresh installation). It _should_ work on Fedora Core 1 and
any other rpm based distribution.

You can grab the installation script here:
http://www.logged.org/dustin/installvlc.txt -- Rename to .pl

I just figured some people might be intrested in this to ease the
install of vlc (even though it's not that hard to begin with). Depending
on the feedback, I can go through it and add support for other formats
and more features.
