[vlc-devel] VLC and efence?

Hello, all ...

I'm chasing a VLC crash bug which blows the stack (so gdb isn't much help), and it seems to be 
related to 'dirty' streams i.e. lost TS packets, PES packets with the wrong size, etc.  Since gdb 
reports no stack / no registers when the crash happens, i'm thinking it's a buffer overrun 
problem, so i'd like to use Electric Fence to see if it finds anything like this.

Has anyone succeeded in using efence with VLC?  My platform at work is RH Linux 9, though I 
would like to do the debugging on Mac OSX 10.2.6 (my platform of choice at home).

What did you need to do i.e. what Makefile(s) did you modify, to get efence working?
