For my  part, I  consider dvdsimple  has one major  drawback :  I didn't
manage to have it read a DVD ripped on a hard disk.

If I'm right, and dvdsimple doesn't support that indeed, that would mean
that, by  removing the dvdread  access, we  would make it  impossible to
stream a ripped dvd with vlc... I find that quite disturbing...

(the dvdread input is able to do that)
