This is the part I do not understand. The window is created using
vout_Create wall.c. 

How do I position the window at this stage? 

I am looking for vout_Create documentation in effect ... or a
vout_Create sample source line that shows how to position a window at
x,y during creation (and possibly set a specific width and height).
