Hi Bigben, I think the latest patch (or a very recent patch) broke the 
VLC build on Mac OS X.  You have playlistinfo.[hm] listed in 
modules/gui/macosx/Modules.am, but that file hasn't been added to the 
Subversion repository:

13:11 .../gui/macosx % make
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `playlistinfo.m', needed by 
`libmacosx_a-playlistinfo.o'.  Stop.
make: *** [all-modules] Error 1
