[vlc-devel] Streaming .wav data with vlc

Hi,

I am trying to use vlc 0.7.0 to stream .wav data over Ethernet in unicast mode and I see a few things that I do not understand.
1. With vlc 0.7.0 as the client I could not hear anything. On the other hand streaming of MP3 file works fine.
2. I use Ethereal to sniff the ethernet data. When I choose the 'raw' encapsulation method, the wave header is not sent. And after a chunk of data is sent (~1500 bytes), it seems that vlc jumps forward to another block and send it out so that much of the original data is not sent.
3. I use my own program to act as a client to receive the data. When I choose the MPEG 'TS' encapsulation method, I receive only one chunk of data towards the end of the file (when the vlc server play pointer is near the right hand side).
Does vlc support streaming of wave data and what options should I use?

Thanks.

NM.
