Those are core items, should be in any successful compile.
Go to: http://developers.videolan.org/vlc/  and you'll find miscellaneous
documents on compiling in various environments.
If you're trying to compile in Visual C++, many people have been asking
about that, but it simply has problems with VLC.  In Windows, using the
Cygwin environment really seems to be simplest, and there's a document on
how to set it up at the referenced URL.

Hi,
I build VLC and run it from command line. It playes the file but, I couldn't
enable the following buttons in the GUI.

1. Open a file.
2. Add files.
3. Remove items.
4. Show preferences

How to enable the handlers for these controls?
