[vlc-devel] Re: New Win32 contrib

Question is does the contrib package make script work OK under a Windows
Cygwin environment?
Months back it was a pretty exotic experience, getting all of the contrib
elements compiled under Cygwin. Doable, mind you, just not a clean method
of building them all, getting them to then shovel into \usr\win32.
If it's not a clean build of the contribs using Cygwin, it would be nice to
still post a compiled contrib; requiring developers to use a Linux box isn't
that good an option.

Thanks!

Subject: [vlc-devel] New Win32 contrib

Hiya,

New contrib with:
yesterday's ffmpeg
today's x264
wxwidget in non-unicode mode
faad from 20040923
recompiled dvdnav
live.com with localisation patch by thedj

http://ftp.videolan.org/pub/testing/win32/contrib-20051101-win32-bin-gcc.3.3
.1-only.tar.bz2

Also note that this may be the last contrib package.
In trunk , i commited yesterday changes to the MacOSX/BeOS contrib system
which allow you to build all the needed libraries. And so no problem with
compiler version.

It's working with mingw on debian linux. Please test and report bugs or
patches.

Go in extras/contrib, execute bootstrap or bootstrap i586-mingw32msvc if
you're crosscompiling and then do make src. you can then configure vlc with
the usual enable options. all the --with-tree or --with-path are no longer
needed normally.
