The best way is to code against the current SVN. Luckily, i can't
remember changes in the vout architecture since 0.7.2 so your vout
module should be alright

The best way to submit is doing a patch against the svn with svn diff or
a patch against a snapshot with diff -u. There's a limit size on the
mailing list, so it's better avoiding sending big files. better is a
link to an online location. If you can't put it online, the mail would
need to wait for moderation.
