I am not talking about the control API, but about the core snapshot
functionality. It would not be clean to initialize part of the data in
the core, and fill the rest (with less precision) in the control API.

Ideally, the timestamp (in movie time) for pictures could be preserved
across the access/codec/output chain, but it does not seem to be the
case for the moment.
