this is not specific to the skins interface (at least on linux), and
I don't know if there is really a fix. Indeed the vout *is* clipped
during redraw events, but when the window is resized you have to repaint
the background at least once...

Yes, you have to restart the video to have it working.
It is very hard to fix that with the current implementation of the vout; I
had a try to fix it for X11/Xvideo output but it didn't work :/
