What's wrong with letting DBus use pthreads anyway? as long as VLC
threads are POSIX threads, this works fine, and you don't waste time
extending the VLC thread APIs. The only issue is that this only works
on pthreads-based VLCs but that should be the case for all DBus-enabled
platforms anyway.
