Would it help the VLC developers if I made RealNetworks RTSP support 
available in the "LIVE555 Streaming Media" libraries?  I have 
actually had this implemented (as separate code) for more than a year 
now, but I've never made it publically available, because I didn't 
want to add any legitimacy to RealNetworks' non-standard hacks. 
(Instead, I'd rather just wait for RealNetworks to die :-)

However, if the VLC developers would find this useful (e.g., so they 
can eventually get rid of their own RealNetworks hack code), then let 
me know, and I'll add it to the released "LIVE555 Streaming Media" 
code (along with instructions on our web site, and on the 
"live-devel" mailing list for how to build it).

(I'd still prefer to see RealNetworks' hacks - if not RealNetworks 
itself - wiped off the face of the Earth, though...)
