Most of the projects seem to have their own Real RTSP code now
anyways. In terms of legitimacy it's kinda getting a moot point

Personally, I'd rather see the real_rtsp code cleaned and expanded,
so we can use our own UDP/TCP stacks for RTSP client and server,
instead of using liveMedia.
It would be best to have one single RTSP module for both client and
server, that could talk to nCube, Kasenna, Real, RTSP 1.1, RTSP 2.0
protocols. Having a clear "dialect" option and some smart auto
detection should really be able to handle most cases just fine. There
is simply a ton of duplicity in VLC atm. regarding RTSP and it really
isn't making it any easier to support all the modules.
