[vlc-devel] SRT subtitles not rendered

Hi all,

I reported a problem with SRT subtitles rendering on the forum a couple of
weeks ago. Dionoea suggested to try contacting Bernie Purcell, who seems to work
on subtitles support for now. I thought posting to the dev-list could be the right way to
reach him...

I just compiled the latest nighty snapshot (trunk-20070807-0014/), and i (still)
experience the following behaviour : VLC loads then unloads the "XML" module
repeatedely each time it tries to display the current subtitle on the video :

I have tried various encoding, various sources, and two languages and the very 
same behaviour happens every time. DVD subtitles work fine though.

It happens with every nightly snapshot i tried so far, as well as with v0.8.6c

I am running linux :
- kernel-2.6.21.4
- libc-2.4,
- libxml-2.6.26,
- gcc-4.2.1
