Hi Shaleen,
I am anand and I am in my final year bachelors and doing my
final year thesis as well. I have to develop a streaming application as part
of my project and so I decided to model my application on VLC. In addition I
am trying to do the rtp protocol as a linux kernel module which can be
loaded when the application needs it at run time. RTCP is a supporting
protocol of rtp and it is used to provide feedback such as packets dropped
statistics that will enable the server to change its encoding scheme and so
on i.e. adapt to the state of the network.
You can find the rtcp implementation of vlc in its source
code, particularly in, modules/mux/rtp/rtcp.c and modules/mux/rtp/rtcp.h.

Cheers,
Anand
