[vlc-devel] VLC and Windows

I was/am in the same boat (not diving but building vlc
down to the bindings).

Thanks for the contribs hint I will start looking into
that (once I find some up to date instructions on how
to build contribs). I am having a really crazy issue
with the makefile in the java bindings. The sequence
of the build is really interesting but does not work.
Seems there are dummy plo files which are created by
the vlc-configure.sh. Then there are .o and .lo files
and from them using the dlltool the .def. There is
some wierd thing where I believe the .o have to be
created the first time then the second time again
before the .plo gets replaced properly. Then rerun the
make again and it errors because of mulitiple targets
in the plo so end result is the jvlc.dll never gets
created.

Not much fun.
