[vlc-devel] Problem configuring vlc on linux. Need Help !!

Hi VLC developers,
I am new to this.
While configuring, i am getting following error:

"cannot find development headers for libfaad"

Can anybody plese suggest what needs to be done.
I dont fing libfaad and libfaac in /usr/lib/
Do, I need to get the library. If , yes, then what ?

It would be grt help for me to get going.
