[vlc-devel] Dynamic rendering for Kate streams

[ogg.k.ogg.k at googlemail.com]

Attached with most feedback applied. I assume the 'coding style'
comments were about declaring locals where they are used (eg,
C99 rather than C89).

Note that the big endian code is not tested, since I don't have the
hardware.
