[vlc-devel] Translation of VLC media player

Heya,

I currently don't do that in the German l10n and I think it is a good thing
to keep it like that.

We definitely have something like a brand (although it isn't protected),
which we should keep across the locales for marketing and re-discovery by
our users. In fact, most of my VLC-using friends would be confused if it
pops up as "VLC Medienwiedergabeanwendung" (both much longer and uglier). A
special case in the German language may be that most download-pages also
refer to "media players" as section titles, as there is no real translation.
This may be different in French of course ;)

Anyway, I would recommend to stick to the current way of non-translating it.
