You are welcome to not break a working build system for your personal 
convenience of not seeing warnings from other people's code.

-Werror in configure checks will not be safe anytime soon, and has absolute 
zero added-value from VLC development perspective. VLC runs on a lot more 
architectures than what the buildbots have. Besides, nobody will ever check 
that *all* the current tests work fine even on Linux and Windwos.
