I doubt I can make it on the Satursday before Xmas. Plane tickets on that
Friday evening are *already* outrageously expensive. At any rate, that will
be a very busy (= very expensive) week-end in airports, so if that is the
date you want, it needs to be settled really quick :(

I assume JB can send an official letter of invitation on behalf of the
association for the French embassy; it just has to be prepared early
enough. Also, Schengen should be easier than UK.
