[vlc-devel] Earth to release engineering

	Hello,

I thought we had a release manager. I guess my memory is failing me, because I
have not seen any news from him/her over as long as I remember. I only recall
a few bug lists from J-B a relatively long time ago.

Sarcasm aside, it is quite annoying that there is absolutely no news. Oh,
there are so many things that annoy me that nobody on this mailing list
probably cares about that anymore. But that's also worrying, because that's
how failed release cycles start. I mean releases like 0.8.3 that never
actually happened because 0.8.4 superseded it, or like 0.8.6 which took 7
months though it was just a minor revision over 0.8.5 and 0.9.0 was developped
in parallel. This is especially critical now that 1.1 is open and interest in
1.0 is fading rapidly.
