The JavaScript API for ActiveX and Netscape capable plugin browsers
(Firefox/Safari/Mozilla/etc) has been unified since VLC version 0.8.6.
The version 1 of the JS API has been dropped for the Netscape based
API, but not for the ActiveX based API. At the time this was done it
looked a good idea to keep the ActiveX JS API backwards compatible,
because this is expected from ActiveX based interfaces. However now it
doesn't seem so great anymore.
I propose to drop the old JS API also for the ActiveX plugin before
vlc 1.1 feature freeze..
kind regards,
Jean-Paul Saman
