It does not really matter since the idea is to tag HEAD at the moment
we fork 1.X.git

Yes but I need to verify why

In fact I noticed 1.1.0-pre1 was the same commit because git describe
showed the same number of commits (the 2310) when testing it (and it
showed 1.2.0-dev)
