VLC has been ported to use TI platform and DSP bridge (DVDSDK et al)
source code for this is available in this tree:

It has been tested against this platform
http://wiki.neurostechnology.com/index.php/OSD2.0_Development (which
uses the same C64x TI DSP as the Beagleboards).
