[vlc-devel] Daily build of VLC trunk

Hi,

Since some week we have daily builds of VLC trunk on Launchpad [1].
Currently it provides binary packages for Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick). I
will extent it to build binaries for later Ubuntu releases once they are
available.

The nightly builds page on videolan [2] is outdated. There are no debs
for Debian sid and Ubuntu intrepid. I recommend to replace these by [1].

Technical details:
First the trunk branch is imported into a Launchpad bzr branch. This is
normally done by Launchpad, but due to bug #402814 [3], the import fails
and I have to "import" [4] it manually on my own machine. A recipe [5]
merges the trunk bzr branch with a packaging branch, which is derived
from the Debian package. Then a source tarball is created and uploaded
to the PPA [1]. This is done every day if one bzr branch changes. Every
member of the ~videolan team on Launchpad have access to the branches
and to the recipe.
